our history

Dr. Brian and Becky Bucy have been at PCC as students in the late 70’s and then as faculty since the early 1980’s. They both have a love for missions. Dr. Bucy is now one of the main mission professors at Pensacola Christian College. The Bucys took their first mission team to Sam and Julie Hodges’ ministry in Honduras in 2007. They took teams for four years and loved it.

Highlights from past trips

Trevin and Elaine Houk were students at PCC in the late 1980’s. Trevin had Mrs. Bucy for a freshman English class and both Trevin and Elaine had Dr. Bucy in several mission classes. In September 2014, Dr. Bucy asked Trevin and Elaine to consider leading a YOM missions team. They prayed about it and met with the Bucys to glean what tips and insights they could provide. The Lord led the Houks to take their first trip to the Hodges in Honduras in June of 2015.

The Lord has allowed over 80 PCC students to minister with the Hodges in Sabanagrande, Tegucigalpa, and La Paz, Honduras on the 7 trips so far. Thousands of boys and girls in the public schools have heard the good news of the gospel and many have trusted Christ as Savior. Our teams have also been able to minister to the believers in New Life Baptist Church and La Paz Baptist Church. We also have held youth rallies, Bible clubs, vacation Bible Schools, and worked with New Life Baptist Seminary. The Lord has allowed our team to have a small part in the wonderful ministry of the Hodges in Honduras.

Now the Houks are planning their 4th YOM missions trip to Honduras in June of 2019. Please pray about joining our team, so you too can see the Lord work in you and through you!
